Consume Autotask REST API

Actions389

Overview

This node operation retrieves multiple Configuration Item Types from the Autotask system. It is useful for scenarios where you need to fetch a list of configuration item types for inventory, asset management, or IT service management purposes. For example, you can use it to get all configuration item types to display in a dashboard or to synchronize configuration item types with another system.

Properties

Name Meaning
Fields Defines which fields of the Configuration Item Types to map and include in the output. Supports defining fields manually or using auto-mapping features.
Get All Determines whether to return all available Configuration Item Types or limit the number of results.
Max Records Specifies the maximum number of Configuration Item Types to return when 'Get All' is false. The value can range from 1 to 500.
Add Picklist Labels If enabled, adds additional fields with '_label' suffix for picklist fields to provide human-readable labels for their values.
Add Reference Labels If enabled, adds additional fields with '_label' suffix for reference fields to provide human-readable labels for their values.
Select Columns Names or IDs. Allows selection of specific fields (columns) to include in the response. If no fields are selected, all fields are returned. The ID field is always included.
Flatten User-Defined Fields If enabled, user-defined fields (UDFs) are brought to the top level of each object instead of being nested inside a userDefinedFields array.

Output

JSON

  • id - Unique identifier of the Configuration Item Type.
  • name - Name of the Configuration Item Type.
  • description - Description of the Configuration Item Type.
  • userDefinedFields - Array of user-defined fields associated with the Configuration Item Type, unless flattened.
_label - Human-readable labels for picklist or reference fields, added if enabled.

Dependencies

  • Requires an API key credential for Autotask REST API authentication.

Troubleshooting

  • If no Configuration Item Types are returned, verify that the API credentials are correct and have sufficient permissions.
  • If the node returns an error about unsupported resource, ensure the resource parameter is set to 'configurationItemTypes'.
  • If the maximum records limit is exceeded, reduce the 'Max Records' value or enable 'Get All' to fetch all records.
  • If picklist or reference labels are missing, check that 'Add Picklist Labels' and 'Add Reference Labels' options are enabled.
