Autotask

Consume Autotask REST API

Actions389

Overview

This node operation retrieves detailed information about a specific service from the Autotask system using the service's unique ID. It is useful for workflows that need to fetch and utilize service data, such as integrating service details into reports, automating service-related updates, or synchronizing service information with other systems.

Properties

Name Meaning
Service ID The unique identifier of the service to retrieve details for. This is a required input to specify which service to get.
Add Picklist Labels Determines whether to add additional fields with human-readable labels for picklist fields in the service data. Helps make picklist values more understandable.
Add Reference Labels Determines whether to add additional fields with human-readable labels for reference fields in the service data. Enhances readability of referenced entities.
Select Columns Names or IDs. Specifies which fields of the service to include in the response. If none are selected, all fields are returned. The service ID is always included.
Flatten User-Defined Fields If enabled, user-defined fields (UDFs) are moved to the top level of the returned object instead of being nested, simplifying access to these fields.

Dependencies

  • Requires an Autotask API credential for authentication to access the Autotask REST API.

Troubleshooting

  • Ensure the provided Service ID is correct and exists in the Autotask system; otherwise, the node will return an error indicating the service was not found.
  • If no fields appear in the output, verify that the 'Select Columns' property is set correctly or left empty to retrieve all fields.
  • If labels for picklist or reference fields are missing, check that the corresponding 'Add Picklist Labels' and 'Add Reference Labels' options are enabled.
  • Authentication errors may occur if the Autotask API credentials are invalid or expired; reconfigure the credentials in n8n to resolve this.
